This year we have actually been having a summer in England and if like me, you sometimes forget to buy SPF throughout the year (I am rarely out and about at midday anyway) the sign of blazing sun was met with panic and thoughts such as "I need to find an SPF of factor 30 for my face!!!" so have no fear, I found quite the few products that provide a great amount of sun protection so you don't have to go out and buy an expensive new spf or add another step into the already never-ending routine.

The Glow Giver SPF
Whilst rummaging through my stash I was surprised to find that the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector has SPF 25+, this is great as it is the only highlighter I have found that provides sun protection. You may be wondering, why do I need SPF in my highlighter? Well, you don't but if you are just popping out the house for an hour or are having a barbeque and you don't want to apply a full face of makeup, applying a layer of liquid highlight (this is subtle enough to wear all over the face) can brighten the skin without adding any coverage and remains looking extremely natural.

The Dark Circles SPF
If you struggle with finding a good eye cream that contains SPF then go for a concealer that has it! My favourite under eye concealer is the Dior Hydra Life BB Eye Creme, this is a very expensive concealer but it really is magnificent and I haven't found a cheaper alternative yet. It counter acts any darkness and veins whilst remaining incredibly lightweight and never cakes or creases plus it has an SPF of 20 which will keep your eyes looking young so that you won't have to worry about concealer creasing in any fine lines in the future!

The Sheer Coverage SPF
I don't know about you but when the sun is shining I really enjoy wearing a light base as it looks fresh and incredibly youthful. My current favourites have been the Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation (SPF 30) which is an extremely sheer coverage foundation that perks up the skin by giving it a little colour and a lot of glow, leaving you with a really radiant complexion. A more budget option is the Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector (SPF30), this has a little more coverage than the Perricone MD however it provides the same dewy finish that really plumps the skin and leaves it looking nourished and glowing. As a side note, I do have oily skin and these can sometimes make my skin look oily but with most foundations, a little powder down the t-zone sorts everything out but in the summer, I just embrace my greasy glow!

The I Need Coverage SPF
Some people just don't feel comfortable in a sheer base and sometimes when your skin isn't co-operating, you just really need some coverage! For those days there are two perfect items I reach for, the first is the Guerlain BB Beauty Booster SPF 30 PA+++ which not only provides a high quality sun protection but it gives a medium to buildable coverage. In just one pump you can cover any problem areas and create an incredibly flawless base with a natural, slightly dewy finish. The colour range in this line isn't great but if you can find the shade for you, I would seriously recommend this product as it makes the skin look amazing and it lasts really well throughout those hot summer days.

The second item is the Chanel CC Cream which has fast become one of my favourite bases. It is a classical CC Cream in that it is not a western version. This version provides a medium coverage than can be applied lightly and sheerily or can be built up to maximum coverage without looking cakey. It is quite a creamy consistency which allows it to cover the skin and last all day whilst not feeling heavy or drying. Just like the Guerlain it also has SPF 30 PA+++ so it really does protect the skin from sun damage.

But remember, if you are going to be out in the sun all day then bring a powder or spray on spf to re-apply throughout the day as these options are only good enough for a few hours and won't protect your skin all day!

Plus, not only are these picks great for providing SPF but they are truly amazing products that I reach for on a day to day basis so are worth trying if you aren't interested in the sun protection factor that they provide, it really is just a bonus!

Have you tried any of these products?
