After doing a review on the Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tints, I thought I would do write about my go-to light bases. Now that the sun has come out, my skin has been enjoying the heat, wanting to breathe rather than suffocate under heavy make-up. I have said no to medium coverage and yes to tinted moisturisers. These are very sheer on the coverage front however any pesky imperfections can always be covered by a bit of concealer!

The picks are in coverage order, from lightest to more medium.

Origins Vitazing (£27) - one shade - is a moisturiser with SPF15 which is great for all time in the year as it doesn't provide coverage but provides a sheer tint - an almost glowing effect. It isn't too orange so doesn't feel like a tinted moisturiser but provides some colour to the skin. Great all year round as it can be used as a moisturiser to impart some colour then followed by a foundation or if feeling particularly confident (or lazy) can be worn on its own to slightly even out the skin tone and provide a nice subtle bronzed glow.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint (£21) - review here - is a sheer tinted moisturiser with SPF 15 which evens the skin tone and blurs any imperfections. It imparts a nice glow without feeling oily on the skin. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin so is perfect for these warmer days we have been, luckily, experiencing in England. Perfect paired with a little bit of concealer for the flawless no-makeup-makeup look!

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint (£29) SPF 20. This is certainly the most luminizing of the bunch. Great for those days where your skin is feeling lacklustre and you want to impart a healthy glow without packing on the foundation and highlighters. It has some subtle light-reflecting shimmer in it which allows your skin to look radiant under the sun but isn't one for evening as you may get some flashback. Perhaps one for the holidays when you don't want too much make-up but for your skin to look healthy and glowing. It is the priciest of the bunch and if you are looking for something with a similar effect then try mixing some liquid highlighter (any will do) into your tinted moisturiser, voila! Luminous healthy skin.

Dr Jart Waterfuse Beauty Balm (£18) SPF 25. This certainly sits in the highest coverage. I would say light-medium. Great for if you want a little bit of coverage but nothing as heavy as a foundation. It feels very light and quite refreshing on the skin and blends very smoothly with fingers or a brush. I like this when I am going out for the day and want to show off my skin a little without looking like I have nothing on my face and scaring people away!

Hopefully this provided a little guidance if you are shopping for something light to wear on your face this summer as these certainly are my favourites! Although I do have space for one more sheer base (I am coming for you Dior!)

What have you been sporting as your base lately?
